Father's Day Bellwether Asado

Another amazing afternoon to experience Bellwether.  After our 2020 October Asado event was completely sold-out before the event, we have have again sold out for this years May event.  We have just released the next date - Sunday 5th September 2021.  Secure your place early (and your accommodation too as it books up fast).

You'll be treated to a three-course meal featuring local meat roasted asado-style over red gum, with a glass of wine on arrival and further drinks available to purchase by the glass or bottle. On the menu: chorizo sausages in home-baked buns, slow-cooked lamb and beef served with fresh garden salad and chimichurri, plus an Argentine dessert. 

The Limestone Coast is an extraordinary corner of South Australia - one where farmers, grape-growers and winemakers are blessed with high rainfall, free-draining soils and abundant aquifers. Local eucalypts are huge, with scars from canoes made by Aboriginal people who lived off the land when it was swamp country. At Bellwether Asado you'll dine under these trees, make new friends, gaze at the stars and share campfire stories. This is a true country experience, one that will also allow you plenty of time to explore the historic stone shearing shed where Bellwether's acclaimed wines are made. Join us at Bellwether Wines in the Coonawarra for a Sunday by the fire, as we cook up some delicious Malone lamb, from our friends at Wrattonbully.

Start the day with a ‘Choripan’ (Argentine chorizo in a crusty bun), followed by Cordero a la cruz’ (lamb on a cross). Whole Malone lambs will be slowly cooked over coals for more than 8 hours, and carefully turned at the last moment to ensure a golden, crispy finish. Accompanied by side salads, and beautiful Bellwether wines (available to purchase). All in the surrounds of ancient eucalyptus trees, at the beautiful 150 year old Glen Roy Shearing Shed.
